People re-enact Ramayana in the famous art form called Ramlila during these 10 days.  On the final day, the Ramlila ends with firecrackers illuminating the sky at night and burning statues of Ravana, his son, and brother. The artist playing Rama in Ramlila burns the Ravana statue.
